What is the PEAR Center
PEAR stands for Prevention, Equity, Advocacy and Research
We are a solutions-focused research center with the goal of improving the health and well-being of children and youth who have experience adversity and/or child maltreatment.
Our work is guided by a strategic plan which involves conducting high-impact research, increasing our capacity to create meaningful change, maintaining strong relationships with our community partners and fostering an inclusive, equitable working environment.
Our research priorities are responsive to community needs and relevant to child health policy outcomes. Collaboration with diverse practitioners, community stakeholders and policymakers is imperative throughout our research process because we cannot achieve improved child and adolescent health outcomes by ourselves.
Since research articles alone are unlikely to produce change, we are committed to translating our work into digestible information for a broad array of audiences
